I found Dr. Shaffer through Instagram and decided to give him a call. From our first phone conversation, I felt comfortable and trusted him right away. I had injured my back doing CrossFit (bulging/herniated disc), and he clearly explained his approach and what recovery would look like. Knowing he’s also a professional jiu-jitsu athlete who’s dealt with similar injuries made a huge difference for me. He really listens and takes time to understand what you’re dealing with. I came up with a list of movements that caused me the most pain/difficulty, and he built a very detailed, personalized plan for me. We worked together for about 3-4 months with weekly visits. The exercises started light, focusing on stretches/relaxing my back, and gradually progressed as I got stronger. My progress wasn’t always linear (it had been a year since my injury, so my back was very stiff; I honestly wish I had found him sooner), but he knew exactly how to fine-tune the program to keep things moving in the right direction. Trust the process and his expertise. If you stay consistent with the daily exercises, you’ll see real results. Now I’m back to doing the things I love (biking 30 miles, rowing, and even weighted pull-ups, with no next-day pain). That feeling of finally being pain-free is great. I’m still following his post-treatment exercises, and they’re working great. He is also a very nice mate with a good sense of humor and empathy. I’d highly recommend him to anyone dealing with an injury; you’ll be in great hands.

Dr. Shaffer guided me through assessing my initial lower back injury and ways to deal with the inflammation, to strengthening and stretching for recovery, and then strategies for preventing injury. Dr. Shaffer is an exceptional chiropractor with loads of knowledge. The first time I went to him, I had a crick in my neck where I had no mobility in my neck. He fixed my crick in a couple of sessions and it has never came back(that was 5 years ago from the initial appointment). I trust him anytime I pull my back muscles or need a quick adjustment. Super flexible and willing to help. I can't recommend Dr. Shaffer enough.

Dr. Shaffer was recommended to me by my personal trainer after I developed tendinitis and was struggling with chronic neck and back pain. Having never seen a chiropractor before, I thought that he would simply make some adjustments that would provide temporary relief and that’s about it. Dr. Shaffer exceeded my expectations! He not only implemented cupping and shockwave therapy in my treatment, he also worked with me on stretches, exercises and a plan for healing that I could manage on my own time at home. I honestly never believed that I could feel this healthy again and it’s been absolutely life changing!
